happy halloween ...

I know you're all shocked to see an update from me. *wink* I know, I know, I'm a bad blogger. I keep thinking "gotta' post an update" and then the day is gone before I know it.
I've also been in a creative funk for the past week or so. Blech ... that's never fun. I sit and think about how I should stamp, walk upstairs, look in my studio (maybe even walk around my table) and then I'm right back out the door (and usually with an audible dramatic sigh for effect). *laugh* I had too many boxes of goodies (which is totally a good thing) cluttering the table and too many stamp sets yet to be filed into "the system" in stacks on the floor. Oh yeah, it was bad. I just couldn't create in there. So I finally got off my bum yesterday and started organizing! And this morning ... I'm stamping! Yay! I don't think it will ever be perfect in here, or ever be totally organized the way I'd like it to be ... but at least I can see the table top (and the floor)!!! *grin*

The one cool thing about the boxes cluttering my table ... they were filled with new goodies, new ribbon, and new stamps! I swear that I am the last person on Earth to pick up some of the cool crafty things I see used and fall in love with. Like the scalloped punches from Marvy ... but look!!! I have one! FINALLY! *laugh* Now if I could only get my hands on the others I want (and the sizes)! Why are these little boogers so hard to come by?!

And the card ... it couldn't have been easier! I don't think A Muse has a Halloween stamp I don't love, but the witch feet are one of my all-time favorites. They're stamped on white with Basic Black ink from Stampin' Up (the sentiment too) and colored in with Prismacolor colored pencils. And if you look closely you'll see I colored over the black shoe with a Stardust pen (still lovin' it)!

I love simple, clean, quick cards. I think that's what I like so much about A Muse images and their design philosphy: Think Simple, Think A Muse. With their images I don't feel like I have to do TONS to a card in order for it to "work." And this kind of card is just what I need to get those creative juices flowing again! *smile*

I hope you guys have a GREAT Halloween! I'm off to stamp!

where did october go ...

Somehow this month is getting away from me. Fall is my favorite time of the year and October wins, hands down, as my favorite month of fall. I love Halloween: carving pumpkins, candy corn, vintage decorations, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, and the coolest issue of Martha Stewart Living all year. *wink* But this year ... it's flying by! I looked at the date on the laptop a few minutes ago ... the 20th! How is that possible!? I'm not done playing with all the cool Halloween stuff I wanted to play with yet. *sigh* That's ok. There's still time. (But it does remind me that I'm late mailing a birthday card ... gah!) Must do that today!

The evening Spooky Scrapbook in a Bag class was last night ... it's always interesting to see how some of the ladies will adapt their kit and change things up a little. I still have an afternoon class to go, so no photos yet ... after it's over I'll post a few more photos.

And today ... I'm headed to IKEA. My studio is a mess. I need more paper storage, more curtain rods for ribbon, and more shelves for A Muse stamps! (You do realize there'll be new Valentine themed stamps from A Muse before you know it, right?) I gotta' make room! *wink*

discovering stardust ...

I know I'm woefully behind-the-times on this one, but I finally got my hands on a Stardust pen (by Sakura). It's clear and sparkly ... and you can add just a tiny touch of sparkle to anything you like. I

I'm home again, so look for more regular updates!

late night & limited supplies ...

I did some late night stamping tonight, but not being at home means I'm working with limited supplies. Still, not too bad if I do say so myself.

I've been noticing a trend towards brown snowflakes and snowmen lately and this is my take on it ... inspired by lots of your brown snowflakes! It's also a sort of "limited supply" challenge as well since I didn't have much in the way of paper or ink at hand. Looking at it now, I would have added another color to it, but alas, it's not too bad like this ... and I do like the way the polka-dot ribbon mimics the dots I added to the Versamark'ed snowflake background. The white is shimmery white, so it's very soft and sparkly in person!

And in other stamping news ... I discovered a cleaner tonight that I have to stock up on. Made by Rubber Stampede, this stuff took weeks old Staz-on black stains off a few of my stamps. It even says it's formulated not to dry out rubber. I've only used it once, earlier tonight, but I plan to make it a permanant addition to my stamping space! (And no, stains on your stamps aren't going to hurt 'em ... but I like to keep mine as clean as I can.) What about you guys? Is there a cool product (or products) out there that make you a happy stamper? I'd enjoy hearing what you guys can't live without when you stamp!

Sorry about the pic quality up there ... it's pitch black outside and I've hardly any light in the room I'm stamping in! I'm lucky I could see to match the colors! *wink*

happy october ...

Happy October!

This is my absolute favoritest time of the year (suuuure, it's a word)! *wink* Pumpkins, apples, Halloween ... it doesn't get much better than this in my book.
