mainly men sneak peek ...

Are you forever searching for images and sentiments to use for the men in your life?  It can be a toughie, I know.  So ... it's very cool that in just a couple days A Muse will be releasing an entire set designed for the men in our lives: Mainly Men!

This is my favorite card I've made, to date, with this set!  What do I like so much about it?  The tie!  *laugh*  It's paper-pieced using an A Muse Pretty Little Paper.  Which I tilted slightly to get a diagonal stripe!

Thanks to Julie for loaning me a photo she took of my card!  I can't believe it was my favorite and I didn't get a shot of it!  Shame on me!

Notecard, Pretty Little Papers, image, sentiment; A Muse. Ink; Palette Hybrid Black.

playing catch up ...

First up, I want to thank everyone who's shared their spark so far this week!

(Check here if you'd like more details about last Friday's spark!)

I'm playing catch up at the moment, but will be back to posting crafty goodness later today!  Gotta' unpack, do a little dusting, and head BACK to the airport to pick up my Mom (YAY!) before I can get back to the fun stuff.

In the meantime, I have a few cards featured on the Elzybells blog!

I love it here ...

Seattle is great.  I love it here.  I'm ready to move!

Dave and I have been having a GREAT time and I've got tons to share ... just no time right now ... out to see more!

But I wanted to pop in, share a quick photo of the A Muse shop (which is too stinkin' adorable, just like I knew it would be), and remind you to check out my blog rolls to look for sneak peeks of the next A Muse release today.  Like a dummy, I left home without setting mine to post ... but I'll be sure to share 'em when I get home!

And ... don't forget about VMAA tonight!  I'm off to check out a few lighthouses now, but am so excited to hang out with some of the A Muse Crew tonight at the shop!

I've got lots of fun photos to share soon!

share your spark fridays ...

Happy Friday!  And welcome to a special installment of share your spark fridays, coming to you on the road from Seattle!

After the worst flight I've ever been on (WAY too bouncy for my liking), Dave and I made it in to Seattle about 10pm last night, found our hotel, grabbed a late dinner, and then I did a little stamping in the hotel for today's spark.

So In honor of my first-ever-visit to Seattle, today's spark is to share something you've made that has a "wet" look!

(You gotta' forgive my photography today.  The photos below was taken about 1am in my hotel room.  *laugh*)

In my case, I used a glossy glaze to give the vase on my image a wet, glossy look!  But you can do anything (or use anything) that makes you think "wet" or "water"!

I colored the "water" with a Copic and went over that with a blue Spica before adding the glaze.  (The flower is also colored with a Copic.)

Stamping on the road is a challenge, but I thought you might enjoy a glimpse of my workspace last night! *smile*

Now it's YOUR turn!  And don't forget to share your spark by leaving a link to your wet or water inspired creations in a comment on this post!  Thanks to everyone who shared a spark last week!  I'm looking forward to seeing your sparks!

Notecard, ribbon, images, sentiment; A Muse.  Ink; Staz-On Black.  Glossy Accents: Ranger Ink

I'm headed out this afternoon!  Will update later tonight!

And ... sneak peeks are coming!

happy birthday, emily ...

You hear me mention Emily from time to time here ... and today is her birthday!

We're all crazy busy this week; packing (her family is leaving for Hawaii the day Dave and I leave for Seattle), deadlines ... all that "life" stuff.  So last night we got together to celebrate a day early with a little dinner and a little cake!  A fun night!

Happy birthday, Emily!  That's a lotta' fingers!  *wink*

paper tales ...

Fellow A Muse team member Michelle White (along with her friend Helle Greer), is opening a store!  On 1 May the doors to Paper Tales will open in San Diego!

In addition to lots of paper crafting goodness, they'll be carrying every little A Muse thing you can imagine and ... Linda will be there for the Grand Opening on 31 May to help them kick it all off!

You can check out the store blog here!  I bet they'll be sharing lots of fun stuff as the opening looms closer!

laughter is the best medicine ...

I want to thank everyone who's shared their spark so far this week!  Orange and blue is my favorite color combination right now and it's been so fun seeing what you've made!  Make sure to check 'em out ...

And on to a card!

You may recognize this one from last Friday's A Muse Newsletter.  It's a very simple, straightforward design ... just the kind of card I like to make!   The newsletter has some fun new features and even more inspiration!  You can sign up for it here if you're not already getting it.

A little close-up of the image.  I used a clear Twinkle Sticker for her stethoscope ... a fun little bit of bling.  And ... you haven't seen me use them in a while!  It's weird, isn't it?  *wink*

Dr. Blackwell is colored with Copics.  Her outfit is white, but I still wanted a bit of depth ... so I just did a little tracing with BG10 Cool Shadow.  My go-to Copic color for shading white.

Something coming up this week I want to remind you guys about ... the second Virtual Meeting of the A Muse Addicts!  (Aka ... VMAA!)  It's this coming Saturday night (the 26th)!  All the details can be found on the A Muse Addicts forum!  (If you haven't popped in at the forum, be sure to do so!  It's a lot of fun: great challenges, good information, and folks sharing their creativity A Muse style.)

The first VMAA went by SO fast!  So much stamping!  So much fun!  And guess what?  THIS time around I'll be playing along IN SEATTLE at the A Muse shop! How cool is that?!  I'm pretty excited!  I hope to "see" lots of you guys online that night!  Who knows ... Michelle may even talk me into turning the webcam on!  (Although ... that gets a little silly ... may not want to go there again, eh?)  *lol*

I've never been to Seattle (or Washington at all for that matter), so I'm looking forward to seeing a new state, doing a bit of sightseeing, and taking photos (not to even mention getting to hang out at the shop and meet some of the creative team I've never met before - how fun!)  I'm sure I'll have some to share at the end of the week ... be sure to check in!  Hopefully I'll get some cute shots of the shop too!

Madeira Red Notecard, image, sentiment, clear Twinkle Sticker; A Muse.  Copics used; BG10 Cool Shadow, E37 Sepia, R29 Lipstick Red, E21 Baby Skin Pink.  Ink; Staz-On Black.
