Now on to this week's spark!  If you saw yesterday's post you'll have noticed my focal image was stamped inside a circle (and layered on another circle).   That got me thinking about all the fun ways you could use a circle element in your paper crafting!  Which means this week's spark is to ...

Use a circular element on a card!

You could stamp circles, punch them, draw them, layer them, use circular Creative Candy,  even make your card base a circle ... wherever your imagination leads!

2008.05.29.014
Here's another example of a card I made using circular elements: the layers and the circular Twinkle Sticker.  The layered circles, like yesterday's, were cut with the Martha Stewart circle cutter.

And here are a few more examples ...
wishing you luck
you light up my life
frightful and delightful

So now it's your turn to take this spark of inspiration and create your own masterpiece!  I'm looking forward to seeing what you make this week!  And don't forget to share your spark by leaving a comment on this post with a link to your creation!

I have a clean, simple wedding card to share with you today!  Summer's here and with it ... the season of graduation and wedding cards!  *laugh*

The layered circles were cut using Martha Stewart's circle cutter. (Which despite being a little tricky to get the hang of right out of the gate, I now love!)

It's nearly impossible to see how sparkly the bride's dress is in the first photo, but this one is a little better.  After dotting a bit of pink onto her bouquet, I used a glue pen to add glitter to the veil and dress!

europe {the grand tour} mini book ...

2008.05.27.005
I can barely believe that in a week Michelle and I will be flying off to Europe.  It's been such a busy couple of months (for both of us) and time has flown by at light speed.  I expect the next week will follow suit and it will be Tuesday night before I know it.

I've been telling Michelle all along that I need to make lists and round up new camera gear and yet here I am, a week to go, and those things have yet to be accomplished.  But ... one thing I have done is make a mini book for her!  *laugh*

As you know, I'm a pretty big fan of Ali Edwards' scrapbooking on the road idea.  The books I make during a trip for the bits I pick up along the way really capture moments in ways the ones I make after I'm home don't.  And putting stuff in the book takes hardly any time (and is FUN for me)!  (I had an absolute blast doing this with my Mom last time we were in Venice.  I love that book so much!  Really brings the trip back to me whenever I look at it!)  So the thought of Michelle not taking one pained me.  *laugh*

Although, after a recent conversation, she told me she'd found a 7gypsies book to take even if she hadn't finished a cover.  Which is great!  I figure she can always use this one to tuck photos into after-the-fact or something!  *grin*  You can never have too many mini books from a trip Europe, right?  *laugh*

I also haven't forgotten that some of you have asked to see the rest of my California scrapbook on the road.  *smile*  I will say, as I hang my head in shame, that I have yet to put the final touches on it.  It's "this close" ... I just haven't had time yet.  But I promise to take photos when I am able to finish it!

And for good measure - a photo of the back cover!

Now on to this week's spark!  As you read in my last post, A Muse is celebrating it's 7th anniversary this week!  And in honor of this celebratory occassion, I've got what I think is a really fun challenge to spark your creativity this week!

Make a card using at least 7 things!

Now, I know what you're thinking - 7 things?!  That's crazy!  Trust me, it's not that tough when you start thinking about it!  Look at my example below and you'll see what I mean!

2008.05.22.022
Let's count ... 4 stamps and 3 card layers to start!  See!? I used 7 items before using any embellishments at all!  Easy peasy!  (I could also count Stickles and Copics as well for a total of 9 items used!)

2008.05.22.023
I created this graduation card for last week's A Muse newsletter. (See the link under the A Muse essentials list up there on the left if you're not already signed up.)  I was pretty happy with it.  *laugh*  The party banner has always been one of my favorite stamps, and one of my favorite things to do with it is add a bit of color and go over it with coordinating Stickles!   (You could easily tailor it to a graduate's school colors too!)  I really love the look of the colored banners with the Stickles!

So now it's your turn!  Take this spark and run with it!  There are SO many possibilities and I'm really looking forward to seeing what you create this week!  And don't forget to share your spark by leaving a comment on this post with a link to your creations!

happy 7th anniversary a*muse ...

2008.05.20.013
Today is the 7th anniversary of my favorite-est stamp company!  Who else?!  A Muse!

This card was made with nothing but A Muse in mind!  (Even picked the green notecard because it reminded me of the color on the walls at the A Muse shop!)

In thinking about A Muse's 7 years ... I tried to come up with 7 things I love about A Muse - but there were just too many!  *laugh*  I thought about things like my favorite stamps and my all-time favorite cards made with A Muse stamps.  But it was just too tough to narrow down!  And as I was thinking on everything, it occured to me that one of my favorite "7 things" about A Muse is ... Nina Seven

Nina is a very talented artist who's illustrated many of the A Muse images ... almost from the start!   Click on over to her blog for more of her fun, whimsical artwork!  (You may even see a few familiar images from time to time!)  And check out this post - I love it so!  *laugh*

Happy 7th anniversary to A Muse, to Linda, and to the whole gang!

life's simple pleasures ...

20080404041
Wanted to share one of the cards I had featured in the last A Muse Newsletter!  I love the glittered, paper-pieced fishy on this one!

The last few days have been a whirlwind!  I'm not sure where they went!  (And I can't believe the trip to Europe is in only two weeks!  Time is FLYING by.)

share your spark fridays ...

Happy Friday, everyone!  And welcome to another installment of Share Your Spark Fridays!

The a*muse*a*palooza website went live yesterday ... getting another exciting summer of A Muse goodness underway.  If you've been reading the A Muse News Blog (or blogs of the A Muse Creative Team) you'll know that there's a lot of fun coming you way (not to mention lots of new A Muse goodies)!

Thinking about a*muse*a*palooza this year, made me start thinking about  a*muse*a*palooza LAST year!  So I've pulled out a card I made with one of last year's a*muse*a*palooza releases!  And that brings me to this week's spark!

Make a card using a stamp you've had for a LONG time!

Maybe it's s stamp you've not touched in ages and maybe it's one you use all the time!  Either way, ink it up and share your spark!  *smile*

2007062826
This cool cauldron was released last year and was a quick favorite of mine!  But it's been ages since I've inked it up!

It's a simple, straigtforward design, with a bit of green glitter on the cauldron bubbles!

Now it's your turn!  And don't forget to share your spark by leaving a link to your creations in a comment on this post!   I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week!

late night ...

D and I had a night out last night - went to see Duran Duran in Denver.  It was a fun night.  Sooo different than the last time we saw them together, which was, over 13 years ago (and way more different than the time I saw them before that - I didn't even have my driver's license for that one)!

So many funny comments about vision and Mom's and ... wow ... the "dancing" and flipped-up collars.   I felt so old.  *lol*  D and I had a LOT of laughs.

A couple of phone photos ... they only allowed non-professional cameras in, so we used our phones! 20080512004_2
