share your spark fridays ...

Whoo hoo!  It's Friday!  Which means it's time for another installment of share your spark fridays!

You guys seriously need to check out this list!  A couple of gals sharing their spark for the first time, tons of great inspiration, and at least one idea that made me smack my head at it's cleverness (you gotta' check out Sheila's brilliant, money-saving idea for bling - I never woulda' thought)!  Thanks SO much for playing along this week, ladies!

This week's spark is something that's a fixture in my card-creating arsenal, using a basic tool I reach for again and again: my tiny, sharp detail scissors.  So get out your scissors!  This week's spark is to ...

Create something using an image or sentiment you've cut out!

It could be the focal image, a sentiment - whatever you can dream up!  Let's get those creative juices flowing!  Here's what I made ...

2008.12.31.018
I cut out the doll and the sentiment and popped them up ever-so-slightly to add a bit of depth over the background tree.

2008.12.31.023
When I cut out images, I don't get too crazy about perfection.  I think, if you do, you'll just drive yourself batty.  I generally leave a little border around the edges and just go for it!

I use a small pair of Cutter Bee scissors with pointy tips, but any small pair of scissors you have will work - although I do find the pointy tips really handy for getting into corners.  (Or large scissors if what you want to cut is bigger!)

Now it's your turn!  I'm looking forward to seeing all the creative ways you use cut-outs on your cards!  And don't forget to share your spark by leaving a link to your creations in a comment on this post!

Thank you for your compliment. Now I have the big head *wink*

I'm sharing this one because I not only cut out Tilda - I cut the sunflowers. I also *LAYERED* the sunflowers and some of the leaves....

So fun to play along!

oh, heather, she is so cute!! i haven't had a chance to play with mine yet:(

This is my favorite kind of challenge! Just about every card I make involves cutting out images. I think I drive my students batty with it, LOL

Paper piecing is my favorite technique! This card is absolutely wonderful! I so.... want some of those little Asian doll images from HA. Love how you incorporated that beautiful tree in the background!

I didn't get this posted last week, but it works for this week too!

I played along too! (Finally...I've been meaning to play for a long time now) I hope mine counts...it's not a card, but a gift tag.

I finally played along! (I've been meaning too for along time) I hope mine counts, it's a gift tag not a card.

just stumbled upon this blog a few days ago - here's mine!

http://thepaperie.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/features-408.jpg

i stamped the elephant on polka dot pattern paper and cut him out. you probably can't tell, but the cloud with the sentiment is popped up with foam tape and sanded to make it stand out among the other clouds.

Just found your blog this week and played along...
