open if you dare ...

I have always loved the look of "old-fashioned" Halloween decorations and the new Pumpkin Basket stamp is just like those plastic pails I used to carry trick or treating when I was little.  Heck, I still have one I put out every year when I decorate.  So, yeah ... I really like this one too!

But what's a treat pail without candy, right?

So candy we had to have!  A Muse now has orange and lime Twinkle Stickers and they made for perfect goodies, don't ya' think?

And for those reading who love their Copics as much as I love mine, I used my go-to "pumpkin Copics" to color the pail: Y38, YR04, and, and YR07!

Don't forget to follow me over to the A Muse News Blog.  In addition to this design, I'm sharing two more over there today!

eat something sweet ...

Candy corn!  Candy corn!  Candy coooorn!!!!

Ok.  So I'm a little excited.  *wink*  But did you see?!?  Candy corn!

So yeah.  I like candy corn.  Don't want to eat it, mind you.  But look at it, decorate with it, stamp it ... oh yeah, bring it on!  Which means I'm tickled to bits over the new A Muse one!

And here's a little Copic tip for ya' ... Y13 makes a great candy corn yellow (especially if you're matching it up with A Muse Kitchen Yellow)!

Be sure to check out the A Muse News Blog for even more sweet treats today!

happy halloween ...

Today's card is all about new A Muse Halloweenie goodness.  New stamps, new black polka dot ribbon, and a new notecard color: Paprika!

But there's a little tricksy-ness going on here!  Those faces on the pun'kins ... are punched!  The stamp itself is a very pretty solid pumpkin (you can check it out on the A Muse News Blog today too)!  But how cool is it to be able to use it as an elegant fall pumpkin AND a spooky wee jack-o-lantern!  Eeeep!

And check out the sentiment!  The font is just awesome.  I love it so.  I've said it already, but I really, really love all the new sentiments!  So much!

And don't forget to follow me over to the A Muse News Blog where I'm sharing even more Halloween ideas from the Muses!

hello pumpkin ...

If you guys have been reading the blog for any length of time, you prolly know I'm kinda' a fan of Halloween.  Kinda'.  *laugh*  So no matter how much fun the A Muse releases are the rest of the year, the Halloween one is ALWAYS my favorite!

And if you look closely, you'll notice two new products! Orange Polka Dot Ribbon and ... Orange Twinkle Stickers!  I've been begging for these for a while now and am SO, SO happy they've been added to the existing colors!  They'll be sold in a pack of mixed sizes - all orange!  They're a GREAT color too - a perfect shade!  I think you'll love 'em as much as I do!  And ... the ribbon?  Forget about it!  It's perfect!  I mean, it's ORANGE!  *laugh*

I'm REALLY looking forward to sharing amuse-bouche (what we call our sneak peeks) with you this week (both here and over on the A Muse News Blog)!  There's just so many fun things coming for Halloween!  The official release day is Sepetember 2nd online, but check your LSS first - they'll be showing up there any day now!  I really think you're gonna' gonna' love 'em (and have a few laughs too)!

So stay tuned all week!  I'm back to blogging and that means I'll be sharing a new amuse-bouche each day up until their release!  And trust me ... you're not gonna' want to miss what A Muse has in store for ya' this time!  *Eeep!*

what i did on my summer vacation ...

It's been a while since I *really* blogged.  And since fall's around the corner and back-to-school time is here, I figured I'd get back into the swing of things with a back-to-school tradition I remember: a report about how I spent my summer.  In photos.  *grin*

I did a wee bit of blogging back in July while I was out in NJ for a*muse*a*palooza.  It was a crazy busy week of classes.  Not sure what I was thinking when I decided to teach that many classes, day after day, but I survived (and all my students did too)!  *laugh*  Got to see lots of familiar faces and meet a few new peeps - that's always fun!  But once all the stamping was over, there was a little bit of time for some of my favorite NJ things: like this ice cream shop not far from Mom's shop.  The Pine Cone.  Yummy.

Another July highlight was a day on a movie set in Brooklyn, NY ...

... and I didn't go "fangirl" once!  *laugh*  "Remember Me" will be in theaters in February 2010 and you know I'm gonna' be all over that.  Oh, did I mention Robert Pattinson is in it?  No?  How did that slip my mind?  *laugh*

I haven't been home a heck of a lot this summer, but I did manage to plant a few herbs.  And keep them alive.

Summer also brought more time in Seattle ....

... something I seem to be doing a lot of this year - but I'm SO not complaining.  I love it there!  The only downside to this visit were the record breaking temperatures.  We're talking 101ยบ at sunset kinda' temperatures.  It was ... nasty hot.

But there were cupcakes ...

And lighthouses ...

I really enjoyed my day on Whidbey Island.  I drove from one end of the island to the other and took a LOT of photos.

Coupeville was charming ...

And I'm still kicking myself for not buying the lobster and crab beach bags ...

More Coupeville ...

Deception Pass on the North(?) end of the island ...

The water was gorgeous!

The bridge at Deception Pass ...

Revisted Mukilteo ...

Had some seafood ...

And I never get tired of the market.  You could plop me there anyday and I'd be happy as a clam taking photos for hours.  Piroshky, Piroshky doesn't hurt either.  *wink*

I love the market signs at night.  The great thing about being there for a few weeks is that I got more than once chance to shoot at night.

Visited Mt. Rainer National Park for the first time ever ... lovely place.  Even in the freakish heat.

I also got to see lots of friends this summer ...

We started the summer off getting to spend a few days with John, Emily, Ella, and their families when trips to Washington State overlapped.  It really stinks not living close by anymore, so it was great to see them for a few days.  You may remember we spent one of those days out on the Peninsula in Forks.  So much laughing.  And plastic vampire teeth.  And jumping.  *laugh*

Not long after that Jill came to Colorado for a week and we stamped (a lot) and ate (a lot).

More time in Seattle meant catching up with a few friends there.  Had dinner with Novell ...

Spent a day shopping for cameras & rubber with Julie ...

And met up with Adelina, Bella, and Brent for pizza and cupcakes ...

Back at the homestead again, Tisha, Lyndsay, and Michelle came out for a few days in August ...

We ate (a lot) and stamped (a little).  Mostly ... we made fun of each other and had a good laugh about it.  *laugh*

And Lyndsay wore leftovers on her head ...

I know it's cliche, but I can hardly believe September is nearly here.  I mean, where the heck did all that time go?  Anyhoo ... hope you're summer has been fabulous!

Guess what Mom has in stock at the shop!?  Martha Stewart Halloween punches!

Having trouble finding 'em near you?  Give One Little Spark a call!  She ships!  *wink*

inspiration ...

I took this photo at Pike's Place Market when I was out in Seattle this month and Dawn found inspiration in it for a set of cards!  Check out her blog, Lavender Giraffe, and take a peek!

How cool is that?!

school is cool ...

I've been out in Seattle the past couple of weeks and haven't been able to do as much stamping as I'd like to have with the new A Muse Back to School and Mandy's World releases, but I did manage a couple of things!

You'd think, having no kids, that I wouldn't have much use for stamps with a "Back to School" theme, but I've been really excited about these since I first saw 'em!  Especially the School Time set!  The ruler, the paper lines, I LOVE it!  I see myself getting a LOT of use outta' that one!   It plays into my office/school supply addiction for sure.  *laugh*

My "genius" moment on this one was figuring out that it's easy peasy to ink up that paper line without any fancy masking, etc. for a "realistic" paper look if you use the small ends of tiny ink pads!  After inking it up, I stamped it on white cardstock and ... voila!   I love it!  Eeep!

Now ... if only I'll be together enough to get it into the mail to the cutie it's meant for!
