happy summer ...

Summer2

Holiday weekends are never long enough ...

We had lovely weather - the first really warm days of the year for us - which we spent cleaning up the deck, driving around in the Jeep with the lid off, and grilling.  (Dave's determined to grill everything now.)  Finally felt like summer!  (I think we're really done with snow for good now!)

Hope your summer is off to a great start!

seasons ...

A couple of weeks ago I was out in New Jersey teaching classes at my Mom's shop.  I was wearing short sleeves, it was (compared to home) warm out, and everything was blooming and green.  (It was, mind you, still snowing here at home.)

When I downloaded the woefully small number of photos I took while I was there, the difference in springtime here and springtime there really jumped out at me (especially when you compare the photo below to the one in my "springtime in the rockies" post).  Yowza.

Springnj1
And the more I looked at the photos of green stuff, the more I wanted to stamp springy cards.  And after staring out at my backyard at the yet-to-be-green anything, all the bare branches out there started ideas a spinnin' in my head.  Which lead me to the first card down there: spring ...

Branch-seasons
And after spring, the rest kept coming!  I figured that one little branch would go through a lot of changes through the year and I was gonna' put the new Bare Branch with Leaves stamp from A Muse's Everything's Rosy release through it's paces!

I wanted 'em all essentially the same - the layout, the butterfly, and eventually the bird.  (Winter has some lovely little touches that don't show up as well here in the photo, like the "snow" gathered randomly on the branches - glittered, of course. *wink*)  I think it may actually be my favorite of the 4 when you have 'em all in front of you in person.  (Would make a cool Christmas card too, I think!)

Gotta' love a REALLY versatile stamp!

a*muse birthday blog hop ...

Bloghop600

Welcome, blog hoppers!
I'm so happy to be joining the Muses, and our stamping friends, to celebrate A Muse's birthday and the release of our new Everything's Rosy stamps!  I sure hope you're having a blast and enjoying all the eye candy along the way!

Here's how it works ... when you get to the bottom of this post, there's a link to the next person in the blog hop.  Click that link, see the pretties they've made with our new Everything's Rosy stamps, and then follow the link at the end of their post ... and so on, and so on, until you reach the end of the line!  Fun!

Remember, if one of the Blog Hop links doesn't work, you can always hop back to the A Muse Blog for a list of direct links!

Now on to the crafty!  Here's what I made!  Hope you like it ...

Bloghop1

I don't usually reach for the lightest colors of ink in my stash, but there's something about these lovely botanicals that make me want to bust out the pastels (even though I see so many gorgeous things made with them in bold, bright colors and LOVE them too)!

Bloghop2

A closer look and you see there's just a hint of sparkle on the flowers.  And the butterfly is actually one of the smallest from Flutterby Flock, stamped, then cut out and glittered!

But how fun is this - I get to give away a prize too!  A winner will be chosen at random to win the Bursting Blooms stamp I used on this card AND our new Bonjour sentiment to match!  Simply leave a comment here to enter!

Time to hop to the next blog!  From here you'll be traveling on to ... Julie Ebersole!  Enjoy!
