happy halloween ...

Battyenvelope

I know you guys will think I'm crazy, but I had every intention of pulling out Halloween decorations and putting them up over the weekend.  There's a few things I want to make to that end too, but when I went into the studio Friday night I walked back out.

The mess I'd left before A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA was just too much.  So instead pushing stuff out of the way, tripping over things on the floor, and grumbling about it ... I spent the weekend (with D's help) pretty much re-doing the whole dang space.  It's not TOTALLY done, but it's pretty darn close!  So clean that I actually had to check in on it again before I went to bed last night to make sure I didn't imagine the floor!  *laugh*

I haven't made anything in the newly clean studio yet, but I do have another quick Halloween card to show you!  (Surprise, surprise!  *in my best gomer pyle voice*)

Battyenvelope1
Nothing says "Happy Halloween" like opening an envelope and sparkly bats flying out, right?!  *lol*

Is that envelope cute or what?!  It's an old McGill punch that I only recently got my hands on.  I'd been wanting one for ages, but it proved elusive (or maybe I wasn't looking hard enough).  *laugh*  I finally found it this summer in Connecticut and boy was I giddy!  I know you're thinking "Huh?  What's the big deal?  It's a tiny envelope punch!"  But I don't care.  I love the dang thing!   And will love hearts and bats and eggs and bunnies and every other thing that decides to jump out of it in the coming year.  *chuckle*

happy halloween ...

Waltzingmouse1
You guys know I'm hard-pressed to resist anything Halloweenie (especially when I've got the Halloween "itch" as bad as I do these days), so when my buddy Julie pointed out a ridiculously cool set of Halloween stamps from Waltzingmouse, I was all but powerless to resist (actually, I think she KNEW that and was trying to get me back for "making" her "need" to invest in a whole new line of inks).  Ah, 'battle enabler' is on!  *chuckle*

I'd been itching to ink these babies up and finally had a chance to last night.  They are, let me tell you, beyond fun!  I mean, just look at that witch!  How could I resist her?!  *monkey clapping*

Waltzingmouse
And as I poked around their website and blog, I discovered they had a sketch challenge and I still had time to play along this week!  Check out the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog for more deets (this one is for challenge #11)!

Hope you're able to fit in some crafty time this week too!

boo ...

Boo
This card makes me a little giddy.  Ok, ok, sure ... it's Halloweenie and that always makes me giddy, but there's more to it:  it was born of scraps!

Scraps that had been shoo'ed outta' the way on my table to make room for something else and ended up in a pretty green, orange, and purple pile!  I was trying to work on other things, but my eyes kept wandering over to 'em!  Eventually, I just gave up what I'd originally been working on and played with the pretty scraps that were calling my name!  *grin*

Don't you love it when you actually USE your scraps!?

when witches go riding ...

Halloween

I am SO ready for Halloween.

Super easy, super fast ... another version of yesterday's clean and simple layout.  When I'm up to my eyeballs in everything BUT stamping, this is just the kinda' design I want in my back pocket.

Halloween1

A closer look at the hat - covered in my favorite black glitter.  (You've heard it before, Martha's Onyx.  It's just so stinkin' sparkly for black!)

And guess what ...  I made it into my studio today!  Sure, I had to shove stuff aside to see my work table, but I did it!

Are you up to anything crafty this weekend?

wicked ...

Wicked
Wow.  It's been ages, hasn't it?  If any of you are still out there ... I'm back!

Back from two months of photo work, road trips, and A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA in New Jersey, followed up by a month in Seattle.  I'd almost forgotten what "home" looked like!  AND my craft room!  *gasp*  (I'd also forgotten the mess I left it in.  Ack.)

And while I still haven't managed much time back in the studio yet, I do have something fun to share!  An easy peasy, super fast Halloween card!  (Whoo hoo - Halloween!)

I stamped the woodgrain in orange pigment ink to get a really nice, super even image.  Then right over top of the woodgrain, I stamped the spiders (one spider, three times).  I love the spidey legs hangin' off the side of the focal image too - just a fast, freehand cut.  Finishing touch?  Say it with me now ... "Everything's better with glitter!"  Ah, glitter makes me happy (especially this black glitter from Martha)!  (Added with a glue pen.)

The whole thing is popped-up with foam tape for a bit of added depth.

What have you guys been up to this summer
